Susanne Dura, owner, and couturiere of Fancy Schmancy, has been in the fashion industry since 1975. A graduate of FIT, Susanne has truly dedicated her life to the world of fashion, both in design and merchandising. In 1980 she started her own business "Susanne's Stitchery" which later turned into "Couturiere Designs Inc.", where she custom-tailored designs for celebrities and politicians.​"In junior high school home economics class, I did four garments while other people did two. My mother knew right then it was what I wanted to do." After 22 years of success, she opened Fancy Schmancy in 2002.  Though it has evolved in its 18 years of business, one thing that has remained constant is the unique and fashion-forward ideas of the owner. Every piece of merchandise in Fancy Schmancy has been hand-selected by Susanne with a commitment to bringing unique fashion to the Capital Region.
